In a clip on X of passengers ready to board, an announcer at Florida‘s Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Int’l Airport may be heard saying: “Our system is down. We cannot show the crew on or board any customers. Bear with us, they are working on it. Hopefully it won’t be long.”
Another passenger posted on X: “Captain says @AmericanAir software outage preventing weight & balance calculations ‘company-wide’ with no estimate on resolution. Flights unable to depart as a result. Not a good start to Christmas Eve travel!”
Since the groundstop ended, delays of up to two hours are being reported at major airports.
