A US expat residing within the UK has recognized a native customized she’s adopted that she “wouldn’t do” with a “non-British friend”. Lisa, who has referred to as the UK home for over 20 years, just lately shared her observations on British habits in a video for her travel-themed YouTube channel, Seeking Soft AuDventure.

Despite the cultural differences, Lisa has no plans to abandon her British habit, attributing her decision to a touching reason. She stated: “I’m not giving it up. It’s very candy.”
On the flip side, another American expat shared some US customs that reportedly shock Brits in a story from January. These include offering house tours, being loud, and openly discussing religion.
Kalyn, an American living in Britain for nearly a decade, runs the Girl Gone London YouTube channel. She pointed out other practices like presenting restaurant bills to patrons as their food arrives and not placing cutlery on your plate after finishing a meal.
Regarding the tradition of house tours, she explained: “So, within the States, it isn’t thought-about bizarre; Americans love giving a home tour. A customer comes over to your own home and also you need to show them round your own home.”
She added that Americans tend to enjoy their homes as a place to “have people over for longer durations of time”, which Kalyn says “displays back” on their ardour for the tour.
