A Southwest Airlines passenger sparked a main debate after making an attempt to avoid wasting three rows for her complete household, dealing with extreme criticism.
According to a Reddit post — which branded her the “seat saver of the year” — this buyer went to excessive lengths to keep their entire group collectively.
The ordeal was shared by one other distressed traveler on the flight who took to Reddit to share their frustration, studies the Mirorr UK.Â
The Reddit writer detailed encountering the lady sitting within the center seat of row two, and initially noticed no trigger for alarm.
But as they walked additional down the cabin, they observed the passenger’s belongings strewn over a number of rows, seemingly reserved for her get together.
Met with “a fake laugh” from the lady, the disagreement underscored the stress between passengers over unwritten airline etiquette.
As more passengers started to board, they took the seats, as that is what was open.
The Reddit person stated: “Her family started sitting in the leftovers of rows two-three. She even let her kids go to the back, while the adults sat with her!”
Wrapping up the narrative, the drained traveler wrote: “A clear case of buying business select and trying to hold three rows for the entire family. I’m usually not confrontational, just wanna go home. But this one was something.”

Among the responses, one person questioned: “Why the hell is it so important for people to sit together? We’re all enclosed in the plane, so it’s not like anyone is going to be lost. Grow up.”

A 3rd chimed in concerning saving seats: “I don’t mind people saving the row they are in but I feel like don’t try to save a popular spot like the first couple aisles of the plane or an emergency exit row. Saving three rows with just her and her purse is insane.”
In one other occasion of seat-saving gone incorrect, a last commenter recounted: “Had that happen yesterday. I was A16 with only two pre-boards. Lady tried to tell me the seats and overhead bins were saved. Told her they weren’t, my bag went in overhead, and I sat down. She got up and moved.”
