A big game hunter has been fatally gored by the buffalo he was pursuing for a trophy kill in South Africa.
Asher Watkins, 52, who amassed his wealth via ranch trading in the US, was taking part in a $10,000 organized searching safari final week with Coenraad Vermaak Safaris, monitoring a 2,800 pound buffalo via the wilderness.
However, the hunter grew to become the prey when the buffalo launched a lethal charge, killing him virtually instantly on the 50,000-acre Bambisana concession.
Residents call the buffalo species discovered in the world, Cape buffalo, the “Black Death” on account of their monitor document of inflicting roughly 200 deaths yearly and for claiming more game hunters’ lives than lions, rhinos or crocodiles.

His former partner and teenage daughter have been notified of his death. A close friend of the father shared: “He spent each spare second he may with Savannah and shared his life along with her.
“Nobody could love a daughter more than he did. She will be devastated to lose Asher, who was her best friend as well as her dad.”
Family members, his mom Gwen, brother Amon, and stepfather Tony, had been knowledgeable on the luxurious lodge the place they’d all been staying.
He amassed his wealth via his company, the Texas-based Watkins Ranch Group, which offers in luxurious ranches that may fetch costs up to $39 million.
