Family ‘wheeled dead grandmother onto flight after telling crew she was just drained’ – Travel News – Travel


Passengers aboard an easyJet flight allege that an aged traveler who was introduced onto the plane by her family had already handed away previous to boarding.

The 89-12 months-previous lady was escorted onto the plane by 5 members of the family, with onlookers claiming that the family informed airline personnel she was feeling unwell and had dozed off. However, moments earlier than departure, the flight crew realized that the lady had died. She added: “Special help [the service which helps board passengers with disabilities or reduced mobility] are accountable too; they need to have raised the problem… I noticed her wheeled onto the plane; somebody was holding her head as they went previous me! An precise physician on board [confirmed] she was already dead after they put her in her seat.”

“However, I need to show empathy for the poor one that died and the household in addition to your cabin and ground crew; what a horrible scenario for them. The fate of the woman’s body after it was removed from the aircraft, along with that of her relatives, remains unclear, though it is understood they were not held once the woman was confirmed deceased. The flight headed for Gatwick was initially scheduled to depart at 11:15 am and arrive roughly two hours later at 1:10 pm.

However, because of the incident, travelers faced a delay of nearly 12 hours. The flight ultimately departed the Spanish holiday spot at 10:47 pm local time, touching down in London around midnight.

Travelers were provided with food and beverage vouchers to makeup for the extended delay, but some maintained this was insufficient considering the length of the holdup. A spokesperson for the Malaga Civil Guard confirmed their attendance on the plane due to an elderly British woman, stating: “She was pronounced dead on the plane which had been because of go away Malaga for London just after 11am yesterday morning.”

An easyJet representative further commented: “Flight EZY8070 from Malaga to London Gatwick returned to stand previous to departure because of a buyer onboard requiring pressing medical help.

“The flight was met by emergency services however the customer sadly passed away. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the customer, and we are offering support and assistance at this difficult time. The wellbeing of our passengers and crew is always easyJet’s highest priority and we would like to thank passengers for their understanding for the delay.”
