Couple accused of ‘morally unacceptable’ parenting on cruise – Cruises – Travel


A preferred parenting podcast couple discovered themselves in sizzling waters after being accused of leaving their two toddlers alone of their cruise cabin whereas they dined on the ship’s restaurant.

But Abby and Matt Howard denied leaving their sons, Griffin, two, and August, one, to eat dinner – saying there was supervision for the kids in any respect time. Speculation arose after Abby, 25, shared in a social media post that they’d be watching the pair over FaceTime as they ate dinner. But they’ve since clarified a member of the family was additionally with the boys as they ate.

“We ended up taking them for five nights and it became apparent that they weren’t enjoying it and therefore we weren’t either,” Abby mentioned in a since-expired Instagram story which drew criticism.

The husband kicked off, saying: “We take our roles as parents extremely seriously and we love our children more than anything in the entire world, and we’re very protective of our kids.”

“We had someone with our children at all times on this boat. Period,” Matt mentioned, including that the hypothesis surrounding them is “completely untrue.”

His spouse added: “I can see where my story did lead to misunderstanding which is why I ended up deleting it several hours after posting it because I could see that it was causing concern and misunderstanding.”

Abby thanked their online group for being “concerned about the safety and well-being” of their youngsters.

“As their parents, that is our first and foremost main concern…. So, thank you.”

“But I do want to clarify that we have not, would not, will not ever leave our children unattended,” she mentioned. “We would would never, ever want to put them in harms way in anyway.”

She defined her household would “tag team” and watch the youngsters, which she mentioned she was “thankful” for.

Viewers rapidly responded.

“Thanks for the clarification because it did come off like the boys were alone- context is everything,” wrote one other.
