John Heald, model ambassador for Carnival Cruise Line, confronted a difficult week as Hurricane Milton disrupted cruise itineraries, resulting in skipped ports, early returns, and a few cancellations.
Heald, recognized for his lively social media presence, labored long hours to deal with passenger considerations and share updates.
“I have done my best to keep you all informed, listened to, and answered 2,700 questions and comments, many of which have tugged on my heartstrings,” Heald wrote on Facebook.
“There were demands from a few for compensation because of missed ports.
“One or two people saying the Captain sailed them into the storm which of course just isn’t true however I do nonetheless really feel unhealthy in the event that they felt seasick, that isn’t a good feeling.”
Despite some criticism, Heald noted widespread support from passengers.

Many passengers expressed appreciation for Heald’s efforts and the ship crews’ handling of the situation.
