Carnival Cruise customers are fuming online after having gadgets confiscated that aren’t particularly on the company’s banned gadgets record.
The item in query is confetti, as revealed by John Heald, Carnival’s model ambassador.
According to the company’s web site, it “prohibits weapons, illegal drugs, and certain items that could interfere with the safe operation of its ships or compromise the safety and secure environment of its guests and crew.
“Carnival conducts security scanning of all baggage and reserves the precise to confiscate any item, which in Carnival’s sole discretion, is deemed harmful or can pose a risk to the vessel or its friends.
“Items will be removed and disposed of and no compensation will be provided.”
While many particular weapons, medication and even water sports activities gear are listed, customers have complained that gadgets not on the record have develop into subject to removing.
One passenger grievance e mail despatched to Carnival Brand Ambassador John Heald shared an offended e mail from the passenger reads, “Message: 2nd time I have asked this. 2nd time I have been ignored by John Heald.
“We simply got here off the Breeze. My daughter was having a gender reveal celebration for her and her important different. They had deliberate to make use of the confetti cannons to show the remaining of the household if she was having a boy or a woman.
“There were 15 of us on board for this cruise. The confetti cannons were confiscated. We were told that they are not allowed. There is nowhere that this is written!!! The party was ruined and nobody would help us. Why are they not allowed. SMH”
Heald shared his response to the client online.
“Thank you, and I can imagine the disappointment,” he wrote. “We do not allow them, and I will have to see if we can get this specifically added to the prohibited list.

“But as gender reveal events are very talked-about, I ought to clarify why we don’t permit confetti. The greatest cause is that had you finished this outdoor, and a few of the confetti had gone overboard, we’d be in breach of environmental guidelines and rules.

Heald’s post obtained hundreds of responses from customers, many of whom expressed frustration with the client.
“Nearly on a daily basis, I am left shaking my head at some of the sheer stupidity expressed on social media by people who otherwise appear to be normal, functional, and reasonably intelligent human beings,” one buyer wrote.
Another wrote, “I agree with this not being allowed. You don’t want this ending up in the water and harming the wildlife. I would never think about bringing that onboard. How could anyone think this would be ok?”
“Aside from the fact that I find gender reveal parties to be one of the stupidest ‘new traditions’ we’ve invented, this seems a classic case of someone who thinks the world revolves around them. People like this ruin cruising for all of us,” a third added.
